The device has a plethora of functions. The main function is improving safety and wellbeing, with a focus on stopping harassment at events.
“60% of 18 to 24 year-old women” having said they have been harassed. “61%” being at events spaces, (survey in 2017).
What Does the device do?
Utilising an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system and body motion cameras to track all attendee’s movements during the event. The interactive device allows alerts to be communicated and security to be notified of incidents, the system allows people to speak up without feeling scared or vulnerable, People feel this at the moment, which stops them from getting help and alerting event staff.
Custom Accessories
Our personas favourite clothing brand is Urban Outfitters and this project concept allows for accessories to be created by second party brands. To increase appeal of device and provide user customisation.
Additional Systems
Event Security Wristband
Features
Pressure Sensor Communication
Both devices possess pressure sensors to improve communication
Contracting Wristband
When event-goer (main device) interactive lights are all showing an alert is sent to events system and to nearest staff members wristband. When consumers device is squeezed (indicates consumer being nervous, scared). The tighter device is squeezed, the more staff members wristband contracts to alert severity of the situation.
Navigation presented on Display
Display utilises an Apple Airtag style graphic to help indicate where the alerted event goer is situated at the event. A rotating arrow displays the direction. Approximate distance and users name is also displayed. Providing the name helps reduce the risk of embarrassment and will allow people to think the unmarked staff member is a friend.
Nightclub System Overview
Example
Security Cameras
These cameras are situated around the whole venue for overall surveillance. These cameras display and save everything visible to the camera. All parts of the club need too visible on camera to make sure nothing can happen.
The only areas not allowed to be filmed in public areas are the toilets
Facial Recognition Cameras
Facial cameras use biometrics to scan event goers faces from a live camera feed in the nightclub and then compares the information with a database to find a match.
The first two facial recognition cameras at the entrance to the nightclub will scan everyone that enters the club. This helps to inform the AI system of everyone inside the event. also will match a body to the device they have entered with.
Staff Members
Certain staff members jobs are to blend into the background and become unmarked staff/security. Having security that are not easily visible firstly helps resolve situations if they occur, secondly is stops the embarrassment felt by the harassed event goer for calling over security in bright neon colours for all to see.
